People of Walmart

Perhaps it's a sign that I've been away from America too long, but....

This makes me a little homesick:

People of Walmart

It's a website that allows people to send in pictures of the gems they see wondering around the aisles at the local Walmart.

Pure. Genius.

I'm pretty sure I've seen a couple of these people before.

Heya! Stumbled onto this blog, I don't know why it's so fascinating to read about things I already know about my own country, but you make it interesting :)

Just wanted to ask, my friend is putting together a package of the freakiest asian foods to send to an american friend, and I thought you might have some ideas about what we can send. Any suggestions?

Hey Grace, thanks for the compliment! So you need some ideas for freaky Asian foods? Ok here's my take:

Anything durian flavored

The tiny dried fish you guys put on top of food (Maybe they're anchovies?)

Tiny dried prawns

Seaweed strips (the dried kind that people eat like potato chips, ick!)

Pork floss

Pandan bread/cake (it's weird because it's green)

Dried sea cucumbers

Canned abalone

Belachan

Gula melaka

I can keep going, but I'm guessing you aren't sending that much. :) I'm sure the other Americans that read the blog will give you some ideas too!

Chinchaloc. My wife eats that but I won't touch it. Looks weird to me.
